Vivian Costa Vralsted received her B.A. In Biology from New York University in 2001, and her Ph.D. In Neuroscience from The University of Iowa in 2009. Her doctoral work focused on generation of transgenic mice overexpressing proton-gated ion channels in the nervous system, and investigating the effects on behavioral models of pain and anxiety. She joined the NeuroTherapeutics Research Institute at UC Davis in 2009 as a joint postdoctoral fellow in both the Ferrara and Pessah labs to investigate methods of targeting the blood-brain barrier for delivery of therapeutics.vcosta@ucdavis.edu
